What is the running time of the show?
It is very rare that we have this information prior to the performance date. However, please contact the box office on the day of the show, or enquire on arrival at the theatre, when a running time should be able to be confirmed.
Who classes as a ‘Concession’?
Concession ticket prices apply to anyone aged over 60, anyone aged under 16 (unless there is a specific ‘Child’ ticket price category), anyone with a Disabilty and Full Time Students. Please note, concessions do not apply to every show.
What is the capacity of the theatre?
The total capacity of the theatre is 516 with 2 wheelchair spaces.
Is there disabled access to the theatre?
The Royal Hippodrome Theatre has two wheelchair spaces accessible at street level and disabled toilet facilities. The Stalls bar is also accessible. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lift in the theatre so the only way to reach the Dress Circle and the Upper Circle is via the stairs.
What is the Essential Companion Scheme and how do I apply?
The Royal Hippodrome Theatre operates a free scheme for those who need an Essential Companion to be with them at a show in order to assist them. Application forms to apply for the scheme are available from the Box Office or can be downloaded by clicking the link HERE.
Does the theatre have a loop system in place?
The Royal Hippodrome Theatre has a hearing loop in both the Stalls and Dress Circle for hard of hearing and deaf patrons.
Is there a bar in the theatre?
We have two fully stocked bars, one downstairs in the Stalls and one upstairs in the Dress Circle.
Can I get a Gift Voucher for the theatre?
Gift Vouchers are available from Box Office redeemable against shows at The Royal Hippodrome Theatre. We also sell and accept West End Theatre Tokens which can be used at multiple venues around the country.
Where is best to park?
The Royal Hippodrome Theatre does not have any designated parking spaces. However, there are free (after 6pm) parking spaces along the seafront and streets around the venue. The NCP Trinity Place Car Park is a short walk away from the theatre which is open 24 hours.
When does the auditorium open before a show?
Doors will open 30 minutes before a show, unless otherwise stated.
Can I get a refund on my ticket?
Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable. However, we are happy to exchange your ticket for an alternative show at The Royal Hippodrome Theatre or issue you with a Refund Voucher which can be redeemed against an alternative show at a later date.
I’ve lost my ticket, what can I do?
The theatre keeps record of every ticket that has been sold for a performance. If you have lost your ticket, please contact the Box Office on 01323 802020 and they will be happy to help.
Can I take photographs or film during a show?
There is no photography or filming permitted during a performance.
Do you sell food?
We do not sell food however there are snacks available for purchase in the foyer and bars and there are a number of restaurants in the surrounding area.
Can I bring food & drink into the performance?
All food and drink brought in to the theatre must be purchased onsite. Any drinks taken into the auditorium must be in plastic glasses.
Do I need a ticket for my baby/toddler?
Any children aged 2 and under do not require a ticket if they are to be sat on a parent/guardians lap. If they do require a seat or the child is over 2 a ticket will need to be purchased.
Can I take a pushchair/car seat/walker into the performance?
Our ushers are happy to store any pushchairs/car seats/walkers during the performance for you. These cannot be kept in the auditorium during a performance.
