DESCRIPTION:Osibisa are a pioneering British-Ghanaian-Caribbean Afro-rock band formed in London in 1969 by four expatriate West African musicians and three Caribbean musicians. Affectionately known as The Beautiful Seven\, they forged a bold new sound that blended rock\, highlife\, native blues\, and infectious\, high-energy rhythms—cementing their place as trailblazers of the Afro-Rock genre. Their innovative style even earned them the name “the African Santana”.\nWith a legacy spanning over 55 years\, Osibisa have remained a dynamic force in music. Aside from a brief touring hiatus between 1990 and 1993\, the band continues to record and perform internationally. Featuring founder member Wendell Richardson (the voice of Osibisa)\, the band now consists mix of a new generation from hand-picked talent\, keeping the spirit of the original line-up alive. \nOsibisa’s music always reached a global audience\, featuring in several international films.
